This is one of Sicily’s most famous events - a festival dedicated to music, from symphonies to rock and from dance to theatre where exhibitions are carried out in the splendid and evocative backdrop of the Greek Theatre and feature renowned artists from around the world.

Italy’s oldest film festival after Venice sees the terrace of the Grand Hotel Timeo as the extraordinary parterre for the jet set, as internationally acclaimed directors, actors, scriptwriters and composers arrive from around the world. The Greek Theatre is the backdrop for the event and at the end of the festival, which normally goes on for a week, the Silver Ribbon Award for Italian Cinema is presented. Retrospectives and themed collateral forums are also organised.
