The Grand Hotel Timeo dates from 1873 and has always been the preferred getaway for artists, writers and intellectuals visiting Taormina. Today it is the privileged residence for travellers choosing refined hospitality in a historical setting.
The synthesis of refinement, history and tradition, the hotel is located opposite the Greek Amphitheatre, overlooking the extraordinary spectacle of Mount Etna and the Bay of Naxos with an exclusive view – the best in Taormina – from it’s famous literary terrace, the backdrop and star of many an incomparable spectacle and traditional meeting place for the hotel’s illustrious guests. From here one can admire both the volcano, which in the Winter is covered in snow, the sea below and all the splendour of the Greek Theatre.
In 1906 the hotel welcomed William II of Hohenzollern Duke of Prussia and Emperor of Germany, to whom the hotel’s most prestigious suite is dedicated.
Surrounded by a large park - home to the swimming pool, the Andromeda Bar and during the summer months the restaurant “Il Giardino di Bacco” - the Grand Hotel Timeo offers both sumptuous surroundings and enchanting, exclusive and reserved hidden corners.
